@Dreamteam_Guru Cheap Midfielder #4 Mitch Wallis, Western Bulldogs $92,500

@Dreamteam_Guru rated 552nd player in the league.
Mitch Wallis was one of my first picked players this year.
I do like the father/son rule, and the mail coming out of the kennel is that Mitch would have been a top 10 pick if they hadn’t already snaffled him with their father/son choice.
His figures in under 18 competitions had him as an elite in his year group, and the talk from the club’s intraclub games is that he is fitting in just fine at Footscray.
If he doesn’t line up in round 1, I will trade him out, but I will be looking at picking him up again later in the season.
Its a hard choice – do you pick the player that excelled in his generation? Yes.
Do you pick a first year player that is in a team on the brink of a premiership? No. They don’t usually give first year players a chance.
I say “usually” because Collingwood threw this rule out last year!
Mitch Wallis would be in the best 22 of most AFL clubs, but the dogs have a great list, with a midfield this is already considered elite.  He might be lucky to get a game.  If he does, he is certainly worth the inclusion into my team.  If not, “Come back, Andrew Gaff” will be heard from my living room, all the way to Subiaco (or whatever its called this year).
