@Dreamteam_Guru in Focus - Gold Coast's @GaryAblettJnr

@Dreamteam_Guru rated 1st player in the league
The AFL helped me from making the toughest Dreamteam choice of 2011. Swan or Ablett.  With the Gold Coast having 2 byes in the first 9 rounds, I believe the best strategy with Ablett for the season is to wait.
From round 1-9 Collingwood play each week. Swan doesn’t get injured and he doesn’t score low numbers. He is my set captain for the first 1/3 of the season.
After round 9, the Gold Coast have used up both byes for the season.  This is good for a few reasons.
Firstly, it means Ablett and co will be available for the remaining 14 rounds.
Secondly, Ablett’s value may have dropped by round 10. We can use a trade an upgrade a gun rookie to become Ablett for the remainder of the season.
Most importantly, we get a chance to see how Ablett will be utilised by the Suns.  Will he still get his 100+ points with a midfield that isn’t the Cats? Will they have an Ablett friendly game plan? Will he still be the Guru’s number 1 rated player in the game.
For these three reasons, I’m not having Ablett in my team from round one.  He is a very strong chance to be in my team from round 10 onwards.
Until then, it’s captain Swan in Guru land.
